Scarlet Hope is a ministry that exists to show the love of Christ to women in the sex entertainment industry. It came about when a woman (Rachelle) felt burdened and felt led to pray about what she could do to reach these women in this industry. She told her close friends and they began to pray.. three years ago, they walked into a strip club and were able to find favor with the club owners. Since then, Scarlet Hope volunteers go into clubs every week to share the love of Christ through sharing a meal or conversation or fixing hair. The ministry continues to grow.

It’s an amazing ministry in which i am privileged to be a part of on many levels including photography. The leadership team of Scarlet Hope asked me to take some photos that they will use in fundraising and for website purposes. Here is a glimpse of some awesome women who pour themselves out to serve others. Meet Hannah, Rachelle and Sarah – the leadership team of Scarlet Hope. Let me tell you … they rocked the photoshoot out. We had so much fun. I tried to get a similar look to their website.. but some of these are just for fun – i mean, we are girls and there is a camera.. ha. We had to play :)

rocking the shoes!!

The colors for scarlet hope are red, white and green. How awesome to find a red garage door.. and a white house with red door, plus great lush green grass.

I mean .. all three of them are gorgeous..so we had to play some and work it for the camera.

This ministry works because the women involved have some great friendships and truly connect with each other – the like-mindedness and unity create a great atmosphere for reaching others for Christ.
I love how much fun they have together.

ok.. who doesn’t love the shoes… i am actually thinking i need some red heels after this photo shoot.. lol!

Lots of laughter :D

GORGEOUS!!!

Rachelle is a very strong woman .. but also one of the most compassionate that i know. I love these next two..they show her soft side.

adorable!!

Rocking it out !!

Such a model – the first one is one of my faves!!

I love the look of this photo.. i went a little texture crazy. It’s too bad they are not a singing group.. because this would be the cover.. haha

Absolutely love these women!!

Eventually we will try to get the whole team.. tho it keeps growing daily!!
Scarlet Hope has over 25 volunteers who serve in a variety of ways – from making food, security, needs ministry and the delivery team. If you would like to support Scarlet Hope – please click here and find out how you can be involved.

I already told you a little about Scarlet Hope – the ministry i take photographs for and serve with. Well .. today was the first annual golf scramble. Scarlet Hope was able to raise $1000. Here is a glimpse of the day :)

This team did not win the scramble, but in my opinion they won best team photo.. lol.

I volunteer my time at an organization called Scarlet Hope. It’s a wonderful ministry to share the love of Christ with women who are in the sex trafficking industry. I am honored to be Scarlet Hope’s official photographer to aid this ministry in any way. The most recent project is for the leadership team of Scarlet Hope. Here is a glimpse of one of our photo shoots.

I had the opportunity to photograph a Surprise Birthday Party for Anne at Asiatique- concocted by her husband and organized and put together by a new louisville event planner – Elizabeth Truman who did a FABulous job. The whole night was just perfect…. I loved the atmosphere and the food was A-Mazing!!! I was so honored to photograph the party for Anne and Charlie – such great people and all their friends were so much fun. Everyone came early and gathered in a small room. Charlie kept everyone updated with texts – right before she arrived everyone got quiet and then SURPRISE!!!! SHE WAS SOOO SURPRISED

What an awesome gift from her husband who planned this wonderful event with Elizabeth Truman – look at all the fabulous decor that helped create the perfect atmosphere for the big event:)

Everyone at the party had one of these yummy drinks: a Strawberry Peach Bellini in honor of the birthday girl.

Lots of great friends and yummy food with an awesome atmosphere made for a wonderful event and surprise.

Seriously.. this food was amazing. I had salmon and it was so good!!! Anytime the chef comes out and you get to applaud him.. you know you are in for a treat :)

here is my favorite picture of Anne – near the end of the night. All of her friends and family around – she just looks completely content and happy. I think it shows how much this night meant to her and how much all these people mean to her.

Thanks for letting me be your photographer for the night!! I had so much fun!!

Who doesn’t love a weekend with the girls?!! This past weekend, i went to a women’s retreat at Kavanaugh Retreat Center right outside of Louisville, KY. I must admit it was great to unplug from cell and internet and just laugh and eat and enjoy the company of other women. There were women from all walks of life – grandmothers to college students. After sharing, laughing and crying together – I have bonded with all these women. I have such a deep gratitude and appreciation for the privilege of knowing their stories and the opportunity to share mine as well. I just can’t say enough about this little retreat at Kavanaugh. Women at the Cross put all of this together.. they have retreats in Louisville, Colorado and soon to be Alabama. I would recommend anyone to sign up!!! I just thought you would like to meet some of the amazing -truly authentic -women that impacted my life this weekend.
We were so busy that i didn’t get a lot of time to take photos (although they did ask me to do all the group photography) – I was able to get away for about 5 minutes to take these photos around Kavanaugh Retreat Center.

I spent the little time i had to play with photography, looking for signs of life admist the deadness of winter. Here is a sign that there is life in this broken dark branch. GREEN :) which is also my favorite color.

And for the WATC ladies: One of the common sayings for the weekend.. just click and download.. it is yours to use however you like :)

This past weekend was the first event for Lazy Z fishing.. a non-profit that my family started to honor my grandpa and teach kids who wouldn’t have the opportunity to learn how to fish. You may remember the whole story from a previous post. We had about 15 kids come out to learn to fish and they had a blast. I am the official event photographer for the family. That is what happens when a there is professional wedding photographer in the family. Ha – but i love it!! Ryland Lakes graciously allowed Lazy Z to use their facilities. With beautiful outdoor scenery like lakes and rolling hills, it was perfect for some outdoor photography. We had so much fun. Here are some of the event pictures.
