Favorite 2009 Weddings

January 14, 2010

I pretty much love all the brides i get to work beside. I am absolutely honored that they choose me to be their wedding photographer. A wedding can be a pretty intimate time for a couple and it is a privilege to get to be a part of their special day and capture those moments through photography. 2009 was my first official year as a Louisville wedding photographer so I am thrilled to show you some of my favorite moments and photos from these weddings which are in Louisville, Cincinnati and random other parts of KY. I have included some engagement photos as well.
Jessi and Josh – so much fun running around louisville getting these amazing shots that so captured their personality.

yes, they are in a dryer :)

Amy and Jay had an outdoor Louisville wedding with lots of rain threats but it all worked perfectly in the end.

This is one of my favorite engagement photos because of both their faces. Ha.. she is so sassy and he is liking it :)

love the colors .. so summery :) I made up that word but feel free to use it.

some of the cutest flower girls.. one who loved her dress, the other fascinated by her shoes :) They are such girls.. you do not have to teach us this stuff :)

This couple and I traveled to Indiana for these amazing shots… and amazing LIGHT!!!

Seriously, one of my favorite photos of 2009!!

I love the fun and playfulness in this photo!

Some favorite bridal party Photos:

Amanda and Jamie are the couple i got to spend the most time with.. they hired me to do several events with them the week of their wedding. I had so much fun with them.. and really developed a friendship. I even came up with an idea for his grooms cake which Jamie absolutely loved and did :) haha. Their bridal party was so much fun too .. we laughed so much and i really enjoyed getting to know them and their families.

I have many more!!! but for the sake of this exceedingly long post .. i will only share a few more of my favorites

this guy came up at the end of their first couple dance.. haha.. who does that? very entertaining tho :)

And probably one of my all time favorites of 2009 wedding photography

Can’t wait to see what 2010 looks like!!

Love is in the Air

December 13, 2009

Ah.. love. i LOVE it. Seriously i am a sucker for it. That is why i am a photographer.. because i like to celebrate love, engagements, family and weddings :) – i love LOVE!! ha – i know.. such a girl. However, i must say that one of my favorite parts about photography is when i can show people how beautiful they are and capture their personal moments that celebrate relationships. Just recently, i photographed an engaged couple who both are not fond of having their pictures taken. I had to get creative to get them to loosen up. We had a great time running around Louisville taking photos.. i even was able to get them acting natural and interacting together. But the best compliment ever is when a couple is overjoyed by their pictures – they were so surprised. But they shouldn’t be – i am just capturing them at their best in good light :) Here are Amanda and Wayne in their Louisville e-session.

I just love chicago!! I wish i could have stayed longer to take a lot more pictures
Chicago Pictures

Why am i there? Well I went to Chicago for the day to learn from “Mr. Tofurious” – Lawrence who taught all us wedding photographers some cool stuff that will be way helpful for my wedding photography business. So, happy i went!! I also met so many cool wedding photographers like Kenny Kim, who was so nice to offer to drive me to the airport, Jay Crihfield, who is a veteran in photography, Otto Rascon, so friendly and personable, Ray Pryor, used to be a web designer,Kameron Olds, way fun photographer, molly michels, we had so much fun with our iphonesPeter Garr, great guy – very knowledgeableKara Schultz who had such a joyful personality and Bob Davis (who btw: is also doing p90x – but he totally brought cookies to the meeting :) – don’t tell Tony Horton. Talk about awe struck – It was awesome to meet all these guys who have done so much already. I am just so thankful they are not grumpies as Dane Sanders says – they truly are generous and humble photographers ready to teach and give advice to those who are still wet behind the ears. I was thankful to meet all of them.

As a result of going to the photography conference, i have been able to network with so many more wedding photographers who i am looking forward to learning from and hopefully working with one day. Photographers like Jessie Cho, Marin Kristine, Miguel Pola, Chelsea Elizabeth – just to name a few :)

After we were brain dead from all the awesome information… we went out to replenish ourselves – by eating some deep dish chicago style pizza – YUM!!!

Lawrence likes the fried food – lol. (taken from iphone)
